Summer Projects

Tom and I decided that while everyone else was on vacation that we would re-do some rooms in his parents house to surprise them. We did the 2 bedrooms and a small office which we turned into a nursery.

This is the blue room when we started out
The Green room which we turned into the new Brown room.
Ripping out the carpet....
And painting and nailing the floor to make sure all the squeaks were gone.
Old office
New Nursery
New blue room with the water beds turned into normal beds, This one had a custom made memory foam mattress.
Old green room, now the Brown room with a new pillow top mattress.

It was a long project that took most of the summer to do, there were lots of sweaty drives home and days just being tired and not wanting to work but we did, Ralph and Rebecca were so surprised when they came home and saw that we did the basement, and 3 rooms upstairs, they were grateful to us for putting time in to do this and getting started on projects that needed to be done. It was a good project for Tom and I to do together and we learned a lot about home repair.:) Not sure if I want to do this again anytime soon but i'm proud of what we accomplished this summer.

And yes I know I didn't post pictures of the basement but we just organized all the tools and food storage, it looks good down there.

Our New Place

Goodbye Parkside Circle... Your were a good little home to us for 3 years......Hello Little Hobbit Hole......
Sorry about all the weeds that is my project this weekend. :)
My room/ computer room, things are a little tight in our now 1 Bedroom apartment.

Bathroom, horrible wall paper but im trying to make due. and yes it is really that small. Our tub is so small that Tom's shoulders are to wide so he cant really fit in it! lol
Living room

Book shelf
the boxes in the corner are full of cables that Tom needs to go through.. not sure why we have that many boxes full of cables but we do!
Kitchen, really no counter space but my table will work fine for that. :)

I have a laundry room but its empty still no washer or dryer but hopefully we will get one soon! our place is a lot smaller but we are able to save a lot of money by being here and its closer to work and Toms family which is nice since mom and dad are moving. :( I like it more and more everyday I'm here and our hobbit hole is feeling more like home sweet home. :)

A little bit of Summer

Well summer is here and I wanted to post some of the things that we have been doing around here...

Amber, Nathan and Ryan are here for a few weeks this summer. Its been so much fun having them all here. Nathan has gotten so brave with the pool, even more than last year.
I think these are 2 of my favorite pictures ever!

Kevin graduated high school so we threw him a small party, missing a few cousins here, but it was good to see everyone.
Sisters...
Memorial day parade.. I didnt go but Tom went with Nancy's family. It looked like it was fun.
Woops! I didn't mean to put this one in! lol there is a different one where Jess is smiling and looks really cute. lol
Jack

Uncle Ta helping Nathan throw the bocci ball
We put a bird feeder out on our deck and we have been getting lots of really pretty birds on our deck. Its fun to see them all and here them.
Nathan being such a big boy and holding his breath..

Red bull Air races

Tom and I went to the Red Bull Air races on the Detroit River front on Sunday. It was a nice day out and we were right in the front row so we could see it all really up close.
This air plane is the only one in the whole world left from WW2. Kinda cool and it has our name in it :)

Good bye Hamstien

Well Hamstien is no longer with us..... After a week of no eating and we are pretty sure she had a stroke she passed away. It was a little sad seeing the poor thing not being able to find her own mouth so it was better that she went to heaven. We Buried her by a tree in Tom parents backyard in a Tea box. lol Poor little Hamstien.

So Saturday night I came home and the lights were all off and I heard something like Hamstiens wheel going and I looked at the cage and everything was out of it, which earlier that day I packed all her things up in. I asked Tom what was making that noise, he said he didn't know.. so I walked over to the cage and see one little hamster in the cage then 2 babies in the cage. These are the cutest little babies ever!!! They are Robo Dwarf Hamsters and this is the biggest that they get. 2 inches. Tom asked the guy at the pet store about which hamsters would be most like hamstien, all they had were boys and thats gross, so the guy told Tom that our best option would be to get 2 of these crazy fast hamsters that will be entertaining to watch. so here they are!

They still don't have names, I'm thinking about Kanga and Roo but I just don't know.. I'm open for any suggestions. ( 2 baby girls)

Ba-Humus

I still have a few more things to post but this is just the start for now.

We flew into Orlando the night before we left for the cruise, we drove down to Cocco Beach and stayed the night there. Right across from our hotel was the ocean.

We are getting ready to leave Port Canaveral. Its just a little windy. :)
On the ship eating lunch.
Our first stop on the cruise was the ships private Island Cococay. Tom, Chris and Nancy went and played on these for about an hour. It was really funny to watch them. I didn't go because I thought it would be nicer to lay in the sun and burn... lol
Tom getting ready to go snorkeling. The snorkeling was so cool, we saw tons of fish and they were all so close and in your face. I had only a few freak out moments.
On the beach.
View from one of the beaches.
This was our formal night. We didn't like having to wear tight clothes when we were badly burned.

At Atlantis. This place was amazing!!! I would love to go there and stay for a week.

View from one of the water slides. In front of the hotels. The middle section there is where Micheal Jackson used to stay. Its 25,000 a night and the minimum you have to stay is 4 nights!

These are for Nathan. There was one water slide that you would go right through the shark tank. But it was kinda hard to see them.

Baby Manta Rays

Inside the casino.
At one part in the aquarium you could touch some of the animals, it was pretty cool.

We went to the straw market on our way back to the ship. We got some nice things in there, I just feel bad bartering with people so I have to have Tom do the talking.

This was our last night before the cruise was over, they had a big party on the deck, we didn't stay up there too long but it was fun to watch the ship sail away. My necklace i'm wearing is one of the things we got from the straw market.
Chris and Nancy doing the Shari and Bryce Picture.
This was our waiter Caino. He was really good and made us laugh a lot. Yummy yummy...

Tom and I get mugs from all the places we have been... the wooden one is from Coccocay, the one on the right is from Nassau and the Homer one is from Universal ( which pictures will come)
All in all it was a great trip. It was nice to get away and have other people wait on us, and for us to just relax.
